Our Impact

Zanzibar Bora is a non-governmental organisation founded by local residents to improve the living conditions for the people of Zanzibar.

We joined our efforts in 2012 to provide cleaning services in urban areas and to promote environmental conservation. Since then our NGO has grown to be a well-known and respected stakeholder for environmental concerns in Zanzibar Town.

Over time we have managed to expand the impact and scope of our projects. Apart from environmental conservation, we have built up projects dealing with education, empowerment and health promotion. Our projects are designed to enable the most disadvantaged people to bring about change from within the community. This is realised with the collective efforts of our local NGO members, the dedicated help of volunteers and the generous support of many donors.
